This October, India rocks to the beat of the iconic International legend, Carlos Santana, as he brings his signature sound to F1 Rocks^TM in India 2012 on Sunday 28th October at GALGOTIA UNIVERSITY Campus, Greater Noida.

For more than forty years and almost as many albums later, Santana has sold more than 100 million records and reached more than 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. To date, Santana has won 10 Grammy Awards, including a record – tying nine for a single project, 1999′s Supernatural (including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for “Smooth”). In 1998, the group was ushered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, whose website notes, “Guitarist Carlos Santana is one of rock’s true virtuosos and guiding lights.”

Among many other honors, Carlos Santana received Billboard Latin Music Awards’ 2009 Lifetime Achievement honor, and, he was bestowed with Billboard’s Century Award in 1996.He has also been cited by Rolling Stone as #20 on the magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.

Stars Turn Out forF1 Rocks The AfterParty

F1 Rocks the Afterparty provided a fitting end to an action-packed weekend of thrilling motor racing and world class live music.

Staged at Melbourne’s EVE club in the city’s prestigious Southbank district, local celebrities rubbed shoulders with Formula 1 drivers and other F1 paddock faces.

Backed by sterling DJ sets from Mr Hudson and Havana Brown, Formula 1 drivers Pedro de la Rosa and team mate Narain Karthikayan (both HRT), Bruno Senna (Williams), Sergio Perez (Sauber) and test drivers Esteban Guiterrez (BMW Sauber) joined former F1 drivers Alex Wurz (now commentator for ORF TV) and Jaime Alguersuari (now TV pundit for BBC TV) for a night of revelry.

The drivers partied alongside Australian celebrities including Fox FM’s Radio host’s Will & Woody, socialite Brynne Edelsten, international up coming supermodel Montana Cox and Australian Rules Footballers Brad Sewell, Luke Hodge, Brendan and Alex Fevola, Rhys Ulrich and Scott McGregor.

Melbourne Goes Lenny’s Way

Lenny Kravitz wooed not one but two capacity crowds at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl this weekend as part of the first ever F1 Rocks event is Australia.

The multi-platinum selling rocker, playing his first shows in Australia in over 18 years, played a greatest hits set that spanned his nine studio albums and 23 year career.

Highlights included ‘American Woman‘, Fly Away‘ and a shirtless rendition of encore favourite, ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way‘.

Delighted fans also got up close and personal with the star when he waded into the crowd, shaking hands and giving high fives.

Support on both nights came from Ireland’s internationally acclaimed, The Cranberries, and Australia’s homegrown hirsute quartet, Wolfmother.

Lenny, Lewis & Nicole in the Paddock at Melbourne

Prior to his first live dates in Australia in over 18 years, Lenny Kravitz took a quick tour of the McLaren garage at the Australian Grand Prix circuit in Melbourne yesterday.

The rock legend hung out with Lewis Hamilton and the F1 driver’s girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger and was shown around the cars. However, the noise of one of the engines forced him to retreat for fear of damaging his ears prior to his F1 Rocks debut tomorrow night (Saturday).

When asked earlier of his knowledge of Formula 1, the four times Grammy winner said: “Well, I like cars and I like going fast but I don’t know too much about F1 so don’t ask me any technical questions. I’m here to take it in and learn about it and I’m here to play.”

Speaking of his paddock visit, Kravitz compared it to the rock n roll experience: “People are always excited to come backstage at a rock concert you know. That’s what I do, so for me it’s normal and it’s not very exciting,” he claimed.

“But being backstage the drivers, and getting to see the cars, it’s really exciting. I’m very much into design and technology and cars have all of that, especially these cars.”

Kravitz will be playing two F1 Rocks shows at Melbourne’s enormous Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March.

Touring in support of his latest album, Black and White America, the New York born star will share the stage at both concerts with opening acts, The Cranberries and Wolfmother.

Mr Hudson for F1 Rocks -The Afterparty – Australia

He’s got Jay Z and Kanye West on speed-dial, he’s shifted over half a million singles, and he’s just been announced as the headline DJ at F1 Rocks The Afterparty. Melbourne, are you ready for Mr Hudson…

That’s right, the British born hip hop and R&B superstar will be taking to the decks at the most prestigious post race party of this year’s Australian Grand Prix, which is to be held at EVE on Melbourne’s salubrious south-bank on Sunday 18th March, following two nights of F1 Rocks concerts headlined by Lenny Kravitz.

In addition to a string of collaborations with the likes of Kanye, KiD CuDi and Big Sean – as well as providing the chorus vocal for Jay Z’s summer anthem, ‘Forever Young’ – Mr Hudson is also a renowned solo artist in his own right, with two hit albums under his belt, and has written and produced for amongst others Pixie Lott, Wretch 32 and Eliza Doolittle.

Also appearing at F1 Rocks The Afterparty will be DJ Havana Brown (pictured above). As Australia’s No 1 female DJ, Havana has toured with the likes of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Rihanna, as well as spinning countless exclusive VIP parties and concert across the globe. She is also no stranger to the high octane world of Formula 1 having appeared at the inaugural F1 Rocks event in Singapore in 2009.

Global superstar Lenny Kravitz is to headline the first ever F1 Rocks concert in Australia.

The US rock legend will open his first Australian tour in over 18 years by playing two shows at Melbourne’s enormous Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March. This spectacular event will play out alongside the first Formula 1 race of the season – The 2012 Australian Grand Prix, which is to be held at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit from 15th to 18th March.

The multi-award winning singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer has sold over 35 million albums worldwide since releasing his landmark debut album, Let Love Rule, in 1989.

Touring in support of his latest album, Black and White America, Kravitz will be supported at both F1 Rocks shows by multi-platinum Irish band, The Cranberries and Australia’s homegrown rock quartet, Wolfmother.

F1 Rocks The Afterparty Sends Off the 2011 Season

For the second year running, F1 Rocks The Afterparty returned to top São Paulo nightspot, Daslu, to provide the perfect end of the Formula 1 2011 season.

UK DJ/Producer duo, Chase & Status and MC Rage topped the DJ bill, alongside sets from Afterparty regular and Formula 1 driver Sakon Yamamoto, UK based superstar DJ, Sasha, and soul sensation and F1 Rocks Sao Paulo performer, Macy Gray.

Local celebrity DJ’s, Thiago Mansur and Juliana Barbosa, rounded off a great evening for party revellers, which lasted until dawn.

VIP guests included Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa, Nelson Piquet junior, Adrian Sutil, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Buemi, Vintantonio Liuzzi, Jerome d’Ambrosio, Jaime Alguersuari and ex-Formula 1 driver and Les Mans winner Mika Salo.

Brazilian model Daniela Sarahyba and TV presenter Renata Fan were also among the 1,500 invited guests who enjoyed top class non-stop entertainment.

F1 Rocks in São Paulo rounded of the 2011 season is sizzling style with a packed out live show from British pop sensation Jessie J and US soul diva Macy Gray.

Making her first ever live appearance in Brazil with a headline appearance at the city’s stunning Via Funchal, and donning a purple wig and see-through body stocking, outlandish Jessie wowed her South American fans with her sassy and hugely individual take on pop.

Jessie enthusiastically belted out the big hits that have propelled her to the forefront of the UK music scene, among them ‘Do It Like A Dude’, ‘Who’s Laughing Now’ and ‘Price Tag’.

Much revered soul singer Macy Gray, no stranger to South American shores, did not disappoint by delivering a cool swagger of a show that brought out every bit of the charm her fans expected.

Macy’s unpredictable and quirky style endeared her to her audience, who clearly appreciated her renditions of the soul classics ‘I Try’, ‘Sweet Baby’ and surprise cover versions of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’, Rod Stewart’s ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’ and Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’.

Macy has also just been announced as a special guest DJ at F1 Rocks – The Afterparty, which is taking place at São Paulo club, Daslu, on Sunday (27th November) after the final race of the 2011 season. When Macy Met Bruno & Vitali

Prior to her appearance at F1 Rocks Sao Paulo US soul singer and F1 fan, Macy Gray hooked up with otus Renault Formula 1 drivers, Vitali Petroff and Bruno Senna, for a few spins around the Pirelli test rack in Paulinio, Brazil.

To maximise the thrills, track officials activated the sprinkler system to replicate the wet conditions the drivers are often faced with.

Macy is a massive Formula 1 fan and watches all the races, so this was a special treat for her that she told us she enjoyed immensely.

Macy can also be seen in the safer confines of the DJ booth at Sao Paulo club, Dulsa, on Sunday night after the Grand Prix (27th November), where she will be appearing as the special guest DJ. Click below for more details
