For the second year running, F1 Rocks The Afterparty returned to top São Paulo nightspot, Daslu, to provide the perfect end of the Formula 1 2011 season.

UK DJ/Producer duo, Chase & Status and MC Rage topped the DJ bill, alongside sets from Afterparty regular and Formula 1 driver Sakon Yamamoto, UK based superstar DJ, Sasha, and soul sensation and F1 Rocks Sao Paulo performer, Macy Gray.

Local celebrity DJ’s, Thiago Mansur and Juliana Barbosa, rounded off a great evening for party revellers, which lasted until dawn.

VIP guests included Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa, Nelson Piquet junior, Adrian Sutil, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Buemi, Vintantonio Liuzzi, Jerome d’Ambrosio, Jaime Alguersuari and ex-Formula 1 driver and Les Mans winner Mika Salo.

Brazilian model Daniela Sarahyba and TV presenter Renata Fan were also among the 1,500 invited guests who enjoyed top class non-stop entertainment.

Following her sassy soul set at F1 Rocks in São Paulo last night (24th November), Macy Gray has been announced as the special surprise guest DJ at F1 Rocks – The Afterparty, which is set to take place this Sunday (27th November) following the final grand prix of the 2011 season.

Taking to the decks alongside Macy will be electronica maestro Rage, British superstar duo Sasha, and headline DJs the internationally renowned artist/producer duo Chase & Status.

F1 Rocks in São Paulo rounded of the 2011 season is sizzling style with a packed out live show from British pop sensation Jessie J and US soul diva Macy Gray.

Making her first ever live appearance in Brazil with a headline appearance at the city’s stunning Via Funchal, and donning a purple wig and see-through body stocking, outlandish Jessie wowed her South American fans with her sassy and hugely individual take on pop.

Jessie enthusiastically belted out the big hits that have propelled her to the forefront of the UK music scene, among them ‘Do It Like A Dude’, ‘Who’s Laughing Now’ and ‘Price Tag’.

Much revered soul singer Macy Gray, no stranger to South American shores, did not disappoint by delivering a cool swagger of a show that brought out every bit of the charm her fans expected.

Macy’s unpredictable and quirky style endeared her to her audience, who clearly appreciated her renditions of the soul classics ‘I Try’, ‘Sweet Baby’ and surprise cover versions of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’, Rod Stewart’s ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’ and Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’.

Macy has also just been announced as a special guest DJ at F1 Rocks – The Afterparty, which is taking place at São Paulo club, Daslu, on Sunday (27th November) after the final race of the 2011 season. Taking to the decks alongside Macy will be electronica maestro Rage, British superstar duo Sasha, and headline DJs the internationally renowned artist/producer duo Chase & Status.

Prior to her appearance at F1 Rocks Sao Paulo US soul singer and F1 fan, Macy Gray hooked up with otus Renault Formula 1 drivers, Vitali Petroff and Bruno Senna, for a few spins around the Pirelli test rack in Paulinio, Brazil.

To maximise the thrills, track officials activated the sprinkler system to replicate the wet conditions the drivers are often faced with.

Macy is a massive Formula 1 fan and watches all the races, so this was a special treat for her that she told us she enjoyed immensely.

Macy can also be seen in the safer confines of the DJ booth at Sao Paulo club, Dulsa, on Sunday night after the Grand Prix (27th November), where she will be appearing as the special guest DJ. Click below for more details

Internationally renowned artist/producer duo Chase & Status have been confirmed as the headline DJs at F1 Rocks The Afterparty in Sao Paulo on Sunday 27th November.

Chase & Status have been hailed as “The most exciting producers in the UK today” by fellow F1 Rocks star Pharrell Williams of N*E*R*D fame. The multi talented pair released their latest studio album, ‘No More Idols, in January 2011. This their second long-palyer, shot directly to number 2 in the UK Charts, second only to Adele’s ’21′.

As well as playing packed out festival slots and huge world tours, the Londoners also run their own record label in between collaborating with likes of Jay Z, Cee-Lo Green, The Prodigy, Plan B and Rihanna to name a few.

Also appearing at top Sao Paulo club, Daslu, will be electronica maestro Rage and British superstar DJ, Sasha.

In addition, a very special surprise guest will be appearing live on the night.

F1 Rocks in India with Vladivar: Cancelled
Official Statement: Saturday, 29th October 2011

Despite valiant efforts by organisers to repair the damage caused by the previous nights’ events, a decision has been made to cancel the proposed Metallica show, which was last night postponed to Saturday 29th October.

“It is most regrettable that we were forced to take such measures,” said Metallica. “We were very much looking forward to meeting our fans and sharing our music live for the first time in India.”

F1Rocks™ added that “every conceivable effort had been made for the concert to go ahead today, but in view of public safety and in consultation with the event organiser DNA Entertainment Networks and representatives from Metallica the decision was made to cancel the show.”

We would like to offer our sincerest apologies to the many enthusiastic fans who were looking forward to watching a great band perform.
