Since forming in 1992 Jamiroquai have sold over 25 million albums. Amongst their many awards, the British funk band has scooped a Grammy, an Ivor Novello and five MTV gongs. Although nominated for 13 BRIT awards they are yet to win one.
In the grounds of his 80-acre estate, frontman and motorsport fanatic Jay Kay has built his own private pub, named ‘The Chequered Flag’.
The singer has a collection of 37 high performance, luxury and classic cars, including a Ferrari Enzo, a Lamborghini Miura SV and a Rolls Royce Phantom – although he admits to only driving around 3,000 miles a year.
Kay holds the record on TV show Top Gear for the fastest lap in the show’s ‘Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car’ segment, narrowly beating X Factor judge, Simon Cowell.
A reformed party animal, Kay recently told the BBC that he cleaned up his act after a London police station named one of their cells, ‘the Jay Kay suite.’
