Five things you should know about The Cranberries
The Cranberries became one of the world’s biggest bands during the 1990s, selling over 30 million albums worldwide.
After their North American and European Tours of 1994, singer Delores O’Riordan married the band’s tour manager, Don Burton. His name remains tattooed on her left arm.
The Irish quartet’s debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?, was recorded by British producer Stephen Street, who is also credited with creating albums for Blur, The Smiths and Kaiser Chiefs.
New Cranberries album, Roses, was originally pencilled for release in 2004. However, the original recordings were scrapped when the band embarked on an unscheduled six year break from touring and recording.
Dolores recently admitted to entering therapy during the band’s heyday. “I saw a lot of doctors and was sent to a shrink and they said, ‘No you are not mad, but the world you live in is mad.’” She told BBC Breakfast.
