David Guetta dazzled an ecstatic capacity crowd at his one-off appearance at F1 Rocks Valencia last night (24 June).

The double Grammy winner DJ and producer, pounded out the hits accompanied on stage by two towering, firework shooting robots.

However, owing to what his management described as ‘freak technical issues’, Guetta’s set was delayed by an hour while the Frenchman returned to his hotel to reboot his entire software for the show.

“My SD card didn’t work.” The star tweeted at 12:30. “I had to go back to the hotel format again I’m copying my music now while 7,000 people are waiting I feel like shit.”

Although Guetta didn’t take to the Agora stage at Valencia’s stunning City of the Arts & Sciences until 1am, the crowd greeted him with a veritably rapturous response when he eventually appeared.

Speaking after his 2-hour set, the relieved DJ said: “It was the first time that has happened in 10 years on stage. But wow, what crowd, and what a venue, let’s do this again.”

Earlier in the day Guetta visited Ferrari’s trackside garage as they made their final preparations for this weekend’s European Grand Prix. The DJ talked tactics with Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso, and teckno with Toro Rosso driver, Jaime Alguersuari, before heading to his show.

“It’s true! F1 Rocks!!” Added Guetta who has just notched up 21million fans on facebook, “I was fascinated by my first behind-the scenes experience at the racetrack in Valencia yesterday. The party last night was incredible; one of the most beautiful venues I’ve played. A technical hitch meant I started late; sorry guys… But once I dropped the first record, nothing else seemed to matter, but the beats.”

Robert Montague chairman of F1 Rocks said: “Guetta has delivered a stunning performance that set the venue alight and was appreciated by fans and invited guests alike. We are very proud of staging such a successful event on the eve of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe. We’re now looking forward to staging our next event with Jamiroquai in Monza during the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix weekend.”
