F1 Rocks Bahrain Cancelled

F1 Rocks Bahrain cancelled

Political unrest in Bahrain has forced cancellation of the Formula 1 Grand Prix on the 13th March and the F1 Rocks concert which was scheduled to take place a day earlier.

The all-star show was set to feature performances from David Guetta, Taio Cruz, Tinie Tempah and Sugababes.

At time of going to press it was not clear whether the race will take place at a later date, but The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has said the country would “withdraw from hosting this year’s F1 Grand Prix race so that the country can focus on its process of national dialogue.”

Robert Montague, chairman of Enterprise Entertainment the organisers of F1 Rocks, said “It is sad for all concerned but we will be back in Bahrain again soon, whether that’s this year, next year or both.

“We have an exciting calendar of F1 Rocks events for 2011 and we will be announcing the next F1 Rocks event in due course.”
