F1 Rocks Bahrain performer Tinie Tempah secured his place on the international music scene last night (15 February) when he picked up two prestigious BRIT Awards at a star studded ceremony in London.
Shortlisted for four awards (the most nominated artist of 2011), the 22-year old rapper scooped the trophy for Best British Breakthrough Act, while his number 1 single, Pass Out, picked up the gong for Best British Single.
Tinie, who performed a medley of his hits (watch video below) at the globally televised event, said: “I want to big up God and my family for sticking by me when times are hard.”
“Last year I couldn’t even get a seat at the BRITs.” The South London born star later told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “I had to beg to stand at the back!”
Tinie wasn’t the only F1 Rocks Bahrain star to be nominated for a BRIT. Headliner David Guetta was in the running for Best International Male (won by Cee Lo Green) and Taio Cruz‘s hit, Dynamite, was shortlisted for Best British Single.
